You have a debt

If you have received a reminder or summons, it is important that you take action yourself as soon as possible. If you don’t, there is a big risk that you will be faced with extra costs and your debt will only increase. Therefore, please contact the Groot & Evers case handler immediately. His or her name is on all correspondence you receive.

Received a payment request? Let’s solve it together!

You can pay in various ways:

By Bank
Transfer the amount of your claim to our bank account, stating your file number. You can find the account number at:

  • The back of our stationery
  • at the top of the first page of the documents you received from the bailiff

In cash
You can pay cash or debit card at the counter at our office. This is possible on working days from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm and from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm. The office addresses in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht can be found at the bottom of this page. You can also pay in cash at one of the GWK-Travelex branches, stating your file number.

Online
You can pay your debt via a QR code, which the case handler will send to you by post or e-mail at your request. After receiving the code, you can easily pay your debt via iDEAL.

Contact
If you have a question, please contact one of our employees on telephone number 020 40 80 453.

If you still do not pay after the legal proceedings (or if you have received a writ), we will investigate what seizure options are available. Groot & Evers will only consider your proposal if you send us a fully completed payment arrangement form, complete with the requested seizures, such as a payslip or benefit specification.

If you are unable to resolve the matter yourself or if a payment arrangement fails, please contact the debt assistance of your municipality, the credit bank or another organisation.

Many people slam shut when they get into debt, with the result that the problems only pile up. High costs are the result, not an ideal situation.
We prefer that you raise the alarm at an early stage so that we can work on a solution together with you. The best scenario is to avoid expensive measures such as garnishment of wages or selling your house.
How do you do that? Call us! See our contact page for telephone numbers and we are always available by mail.

If you have made an appointment with us and you can no longer keep it due to circumstances: call us! You will see that if you notify us in time, it is great to talk to us. It is in everyone’s interest to avoid costs as much as possible.

If you do not pay after having received several reminders, you run the risk that we will start legal proceedings against you at the request of the creditor. We may even file for your bankruptcy. All costs of this procedure will be borne by you after an awarding decision.

If you still do not pay after the legal proceedings (or if you have received a writ), we will investigate what seizure options are available. We can, among other things, seize your household effects, your wages, your benefits or your bank account. All costs of these bailiff actions are added to your debt. That is why we always advise you to contact us as soon as possible to discuss a solution.

If you do not pay your claim, we may garnish your income. The law says we can’t confiscate everything. You can keep part of your income to pay your fixed costs. This is called the seizure-free foot. As soon as the bailiff notifies you that a seizure has been made, you will receive a form on which you can see which amounts we have used to calculate the seizure-free rate. More information about this can be found on the website www.uwbeslagvrijevoet.nl.

If you do not agree with the amount we have calculated for you, please contact our office. You can then provide additional information with which we can recalculate your garnishment-free base. For telephone numbers and e-mail see our contact page.
